The Eternal Optimist

This is my last week of lolling around before school starts. I have to take a couple of those days to actually go to school and get my room set up. There won't be time during our three-day back-to-school inservice. That's for sitting and listening to all the extra duties being piled upon us that are new since last year.

The boys have all their school supplies except for folders. The Devil's Playground was picked cleaner than a corn cob in a chicken pen as far as folders were concerned. We might try Office Max tomorrow, or wait until later in the week, when The Devil will no doubt get a shipment from China or some child-labor sweatshop nation.

This is my least favorite part of the year. Even worse than February. There is no hope of snow days in August. Not even from Mrs. Hillbilly Mom, The Eternal Optimist.

Enjoyed this post. Could the Devil mean a discount store such as Walmart???

Very funny.

B,
Exactly. The Devil's Playground is Walmart, and the checkers are the Devil's Handmaidens.

So amazing we are poles apart, literally! Winter here and Summer there. We begin school in the January and you mid year. My least fav part of the kids starting the school year off is having to label all those pencils! But, now they are all old enough to do it by their own selves, lol.
Plus, I love school holliday time, because there is no routine and no "Get up and get ready, where is your lunch box,... don't forget your project... and ...No not more money for more excursions!" lol

Cazzie,
The temps have been hovering around 100 degrees F here in Hillmomba. Switch that to degrees C and see if it makes you sweat! I always envy you because you have the season we're not in. It's like the grass is always greener on the other side of the pond.
